Elene Marsden | DJ Chica | Preloved Chica |Embodiment Coach

Welcome to my world, where MY three passions define who I am.

 1. Fashion Treasure Hunter:

I love buying second-hand clothes, mostly from Charity Shopes but the thrill of uncovering a hidden designer gem at my local jumble sale is my ultimate joy. Yes, Jumbles still exist today! I'm a regular at the Kesgrave Scouts Jumble, making Saturday mornings a delightful adventure. Some years ago, BBC Radio 4's Saturday Live was so intrigued by my Preloved Chica shopping experiences that they sent a reporter to capture the magic. Here's the captivating interview that tells the story.

 2. Dancefloor Alchemist:

Two years ago, in the midst of lockdown, I found myself in Bali, and that's where my journey as an Ecstatic Dance DJ began. I made the life-changing decision to train as a DJ, with a vision to bring the vibrant world of dance events to my community in Suffolk. Dive deeper into local events here.

 3. Embodiment Advocate:

In the most recent chapter of my life, I dedicated six transformative months to studying with Embodiment Unlimited, emerging as an Embodiment Coach. Initially, my plan was to elevate the experience at my Ecstatic Dance events, but my path has evolved. Today, I run Group Embodiment Sessions, guiding individuals on a profound journey within, helping them unearth answers to the challenges they may be facing.

Co-Author and Changemaker:

In 2023, I proudly co-authored the book "A Woman's Voice is a Revolution" with 50 incredible women over 50. This book has left an indelible mark on countless lives. While the stories within it are universal, the words of each woman carry a unique resonance as their personal narratives unfold. If you're curious to explore my chapter, you can find this book on Amazon. What's more, every single penny from the book's proceeds supports the Bali Street Mums Project, a cause that holds a special place in my heart.

Join me and be part of future adventures in fashion, dance and embodiment. Lets do more in 2024!

Elene’s IKIGAI

Preloved Chica, has for years delighted in the discovery of preloved clothing, mainly from UK Charity shops. However, the last five years have seen her spread her wings across the globe, curating collections of second-hand clothes from many countries including Japan, Thailand, Bali, and Bahrain.

Elene's personal wardrobe, a testament to her convictions, boasts an impressive 95% preloved garments. Her philosophy is simple but profound: "If you like to shop ethically and think it's important to keep clothes out of landfill, and you're interested in recycling, then we're on the same wavelength."

Preloved Chica’s IKIGIAI, a Japanese concept representing the convergence of passion, mission and vocation, centres around her passion for inspiring people to choose second-hand clothes first. It's an unwavering commitment to fostering a community that values sustainability, appreciates the stories embedded in every piece of clothing, and understands the environmental impact of consumer choices.

But Preloved Chica doesn't merely walk her talk, she invites others into her world through unique Airbnb experiences. These experiences aren't just shopping sprees; they're immersive journeys into the art of conscious consumption. Participants learn the art of spotting a bargain and discover the joy of finding garments that align perfectly with their lifestyle and body shape.

Preloved Chica, isn't just selling clothes and experiences, her IKIGAI is a beacon, guiding others to embrace a lifestyle that not only celebrates personal style but also nurtures the health of our planet—a philosophy that transcends fashion and becomes a testament to the enduring beauty of sustainability
